Social Groups
Social skills groups are small groups led by an adult who teaches the kids how to interact appropriately with others their age. They can help kids learn conversational, friendship, and problem-solving skills.
Groups play a basic role in the development of social nature. In a social group, our highly trained facilitator teaches the students how to interact appropriately with others their age, improve conversational, conflict resolution, joint attention and friendship skills in a small setting. Additional skills such as active listening, empathy, and respect are taught, practiced, and reviewed in a safe setting before implementation in the real social world.
Paraprofessional Services
Paraprofessionals provide instructional, behavioral, and other support to students in and outside of the classroom. Paraprofessionals often work one-on-one with students who receive special education and related services or those who have a 504 plan.
These services help students with special needs fully take part in all school activities. Our paras work with the student to ensure that health and learning needs are being met at schools. Our health paras are trained to monitor the child and if necessary to administer needed medication. Alterably, we will help the school manage behavioral crisis situations with trained crisis paras to ensure the child’s success by watching out for potential conflicts and providing de-escalation strategies.
Oral Transliteration Services
An oral transliterator provides communication access to a person who is deaf or hard of hearing and who uses speech reading and speaking as a means of communicating.
Students with hearing impairment face the daily challenges of a fast paced class environment. Our Oral transliterators can help facilitate communication access to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
